a fitting goodbye

A Fitting Goodbye
Funeral, Wake, Scattering Ashes, Living Funeral

Be it a funeral, wake or scattering of ashes, for an intimate group or a large gathering, a fitting goodbye needs to feel natural, personal and emotionally poignant, reflecting the love and respect for those who are no longer with us.

Allow me to ease the distress and pain of this time as I gently gather your special person’s story, your thoughts and wishes, and work in the background to bring together a unique ceremony that is a natural celebration and farewell best suited to your and your families’ needs.

Having been a palliative care nurse, I have had the honour of assisting in supporting and sustaining people at their most vulnerable; assisting them as they experience the full gamut of emotions. Being welcomed into your thoughts and feelings, and even into your home, at this precious time, is a great privilege; one which I approach with great respect. With a wealth of experience, that provides you with flexibility to cater for you own special needs, I will provide a service that allows you to focus on the beauty and love of the life that was.

If you have the foresight, time, and energy to pre-arrange your own ceremony, it would be an honour to assist. Likewise, if you wish to have a “Living Funeral”, being present and alive at your own celebration and farewell, helping to create this ceremony would also be a privilege.

Any of the above ceremonies, done well, can be emotionally uplifting and can ease the complexity of ongoing grief.

Valued up to $500, which includes:

A meeting to learn about the central person whose life we are celebrating or commemorating, their life story, and your wishes.

Planning of the ceremonial components and script, with as much or as little input and collaboration from you, as you wish.

Use of my quality cordless PA system and music of your choice, which may be especially needed if conducting a service that is not at a dedicated funeral chapel.

Delivery of a ceremony that is meaningful, memorable, fitting, and approved by you.

I email the tentative structure and script in a timely manner, for your perusal, welcoming feedback and
changes.

Unlimited calls and emails from you are welcome, during the planning stages.
